Let Your Voice Be Heard
If you’ve got a trip report that is too good not to share or a profile of a trekker you met on the road, lets hear it! If you make a killer campsite meal or just have a great road trip tip, speak up!
Guidelines
First, send your story idea to ben@truckbedtrekking.com. Make sure your pitch makes sense considering the rest of the sites content. Include a sample of your writing with your pitch, so I can check if you style matches. Writing samples could be other stories you have online or works you have saved on your computer.
If your pitch matches what we’re trying to do here, I’ll get back to you and let you know to start get working on your story!
When writing keep these things in mind
- If you cite any studies, please link to the source
- Include a 2-3 Sentence Author Bio, as well as any of your social media handles
- Stories should be at least 1,000 words
- Make sure you have a headline in mind.
- Try to include images with your story. But, they must be your own to use, and quality images only please!
Promotion
If you have your own website make sure you include a link back to it in your Bio. Otherwise only link to your website in the body of the post if it relates to the content of your story. Your post will be promoted over the Truck Bed Trekking social media channels. I’ll also give you a heads up before your post is published so that you can promote your story if choose to do so.
Editing
Once your pitch is accepted, please take your time in crafting a well put together piece, there is no rush from my end. I reserve the right to make any edits to your post. However, I would only edit for grammar and flow. In the odd case where there is something I think that needs real change, I would send it back with comments.
Once I recieve your final post, it will likely be 1-3 weeks before it is live for the Truck Bed Trekking community!
